WHO CAN BE AN ORTHODONTIC ASSISTANT?

Anyone who is interested in dentistry can be an OA. If you hold an active Dental Assistant (DA) license and interested in orthodontics, you are halfway in becoming an OA.

WHY DO I NEED TO OBTAIN AN ORTHODONTIC ASSISTANT PERMIT (OAP)?
OAP is a dental license that allows a dental assistant to perform many activities such as adjusting braces or clear aligners, assisting the orthodontist place braces, and possibly performing lab work to make retainers or appliances. It is a very rewarding career if you like to be part of someone's smile transformation and work independently. If you hold an RDA already, it is still a good idea to obtain OAP because it allows you to do more advanced orthodontic procedures.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO BE AN OA?
It depends on your dental background. With the proper dental experience, it may take you a few months. But if you don't have any dental experience, do not worry! We will help you.

HOW MUCH DOES THE OAP COURSE COST?
It normally costs over $1000.
